Blushing Morel Culture (Morchella rufobrunnea) – 10 ml Syringe

Early-season rosy morel LC; ideal for outdoor wood-chip beds or indoor R&D casing trials.

Description

Bring the Coveted Blushing Morel to Your Backyard or Lab

The Blushing Morel (Morchella rufobrunnea) is famed for its rosy-tan caps, early-season fruiting, and rich nutty flavor. Our 10 ml liquid-culture syringe contains a vigorously isolated RU-3 strain that colonizes grain quickly and transitions easily to outdoor beds or indoor experimental setups.

Why Grow This Strain?

  • Early Fruiter • Pins at 55–65 °F, giving you morel harvests weeks before other species.
  • Dual Habitat • Performs in raised wood-chip beds and controlled indoor casing trials.
  • Clean & Viable • Triple-plate tested, PCR-screened, and hand-inspected for contaminants.
  • Ready to Inject • Luer-Lock syringe + sterile 18 G needle included—no additional hardware needed.
  • Premium Nutrient Broth • 4 % light malt + yeast extract keeps mycelium active during transit.

Inoculation & Spawn Prep

  1. Sterilize grain jars or bags (rye, wheat, or millet recommended).
  2. Flame-sterilize the needle, cool, then inject 1–2 ml per lb of grain.
  3. Shake grain at 25 % colonization to speed up distribution.
  4. Fully colonized grain becomes “spawn” for outdoor or indoor substrate.

Outdoor Bed Method (Recommended)

  1. Create a 2″–3″ layer of hardwood chips mixed 50 % with finished compost.
  2. Mix in the fully colonized grain spawn at a 1 : 10 rate (spawn : bed).
  3. Maintain moisture with light daily misting; mulch lightly with straw or leaf litter.
  4. Expect first flush the following cool, wet season—often 6–9 months after spawning.

Indoor Trial Tips

  • Case colonized substrate with 1 ″ peat/coir + 10 % gypsum.
  • Drop temperature 10 °F and maintain 90 % RH to trigger sclerotia conversion.
  • Provide 8–12 hrs diffuse light; patience is key—morels may take 2–4 weeks to pin.
